Use for topical anesthesia. Use on your skin only. Docaine Jelly (Lidocaine) is a medication used to numb tissue in a specific area.
Docaine jelly is used to reduce pain or discomfort caused by skin irritations such as sunburn, insect bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and minor cuts, scratches, or burns. Docaine topical is also used to treat rectal discomfort caused by hemorrhoids.

Before you start to use it
You must tell your doctor if:
you have any allergies to
- ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet
- other local anaesthetics
- any other substances.
If you have an allergic reaction, you may get a skin rash, hayfever, asthma or feel faint.
you have any of these medical conditions
- heart problems
- liver problems
- kidney problems
- open wounds or infection where the jelly will be used.
It may not be safe for you to use Docaine Jelly if you have any of these conditions.
